Born and raised in DeForest, WI- on the north east side of Madison. I graduated from High School in 1987 and ventured off to school at University of Wisconsin- Oshkosh with a degree in Speech Communication with an emphasis in public speaking and business communication. I graduated and stayed in the Fox Valley.
After working as a floral manager and trainer in the grocery group I was working for-- I left after having my own “Valentine’s baby”. At that point, I didn’t want to have to work every floral holiday-- I knew my time in floral was over temporarily-- I knew I would return, down the road. After a 13 year hiatus from the industry- with minor jobs and tasks here and there--- it was time, and Promises was born. We are heading into year 4 and I’m having a blast-- and I’m still learning every day. I remember my grandma teaching me years ago--- if you learn something new everyday, the day isn’t wasted. The internet has made learning so much more accessible
I grew up in retail and I love small business--- giving back to my community. From these different businesses I worked for along the way-- from some wonderful bosses and leaders- I learned the importance of giving the best I have to give--- if I can’t give high quality, don’t do it-- it’s not worth the time and effort if not done with excellence-- Show up early and stay late--- outwork everyone else. Smile and leave those around you better off for having come in contact with you. Don’t be afraid to fail--- too many people are playing it too safe- and missing out on amazing opportunities.
I’m actively involved in the community through my kid’s school activities as well as being an active leader in our church community-- community is where I thrive and live- I’m grateful you are in my community and I look forward to serving you with excellence at every chance I have.
